Safety practices to avoid and prepare for a fire:
- Keep flammable chemicals away from flames and sparks
- Keep electrical cables and electrical equipment as away/protected from water sources as possible
- Learn where fire extinguishers are in the rooms/labs you use (usually close to the doors)
- Lear to use fire extinguishers. It will be too late to do that when fire breaks out!
- Study the fire escape plans for your lab/office space
